This box probably has one of the most unique names for a CF affiliate. The name came about when an original group of 7 or so members started to meet informally for WODs. With the meetups occurring frequently, there was a need to organize their meet ups because e-mail chains just don’t work efficiently. And so a Facebook fan page called “Crossfit Original Addicts Paris” was created.
Shortly after, friends started to invite their friends and sooner than later, the meet ups became unmanageable. I think at one point they stopped the unofficial meets ups until the original “addicts” could figure out what to do. All throughout these unofficial meet ups, donations were collected and invested into equipment. With the collection of equipment, a permanent space was needed because cars in Europe aren’t so great for storing and transporting equipment.
During one of my drop-ins, I hit up Barbara.
Five Rounds for time:
- 20 pullups
- 30 push-ups
- 40 situps
- 50 squats
- Rest 3 minutes
I managed to finish 4 of the 5 rounds with the 35 minute time cap. Session run an hour long, thus the reason for this time cap.
The class is conducted in mostly French, but Joachim Marty, the affiliate owner did explain some of the main points in English. There are some attendees that don’t speak French so if you’re apprehensive about attending because of the language barrier – don’t be. I never felt neglected or out place because of my lack of French.
If you’re familiar with the movements, you’ll have no problem following along. The people in the sessions I attended were all friendly and introduced themselves. There’s no reason not to visit if you find yourself in Paris.
GETTING TO THERE
Take metro line number 2 and get off at Avron stop. Exit to street level and heard north 500 meters and the box will be on your right.

You should check out CrossFit Louvre if you are back in Paris. Awesome location and welcoming community. One of the trainers was Canadian and she spoke English. Thrusters still sucked regardless of language or continent.
Ok, Thanks I’ll check it out! I’m on my way to Paris in a few days.
Do you sell tshirts or sweatshirts? I live is St. louis, Mo and would love to buy one.
Yeah, they have T-shirts and a lot of stuff for sale. Unfortunately, I’m not there right now
Thanks for sharing this!
I’m heading to France this Feb, 2014 and I’m planning to visit Crossfit Louvre to try their workout 😛
Did you go there?
Thanks.
PLease tell me what is the nearest hotel for crossfit louvre?
thanks
There are a few hotels in the Vendome area like The Westin, Park Hyatt, and Renaissance. All these are about 20 minutes from CF Lourve.
